Partial Departmental Fellowships

The Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS) at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) is privileged to receive funding from the the US Department of Education to provide partial fellowships to Columbia University undergraduate and graduate students who wish to study a foreign language as part of their academic program. FLAS grantees must be US citizens or residents and must apply for the FLAS fellowship. Click here for FLAS guidelines and application.

ILAS also provides partial tuition fellowships to students who demonstrate academic excellence and considers requests for need based assistance. All MA applicants will be automatically considered regardless of citizenship or residence status.

Students must apply to the program (and for the FLAS) by the early application date of February every year. Students who apply after the February date may be considered if funds are still available.
