Amazon on Fire: from Ashes to Action

On September 25th, Brazil Talk will present a panel with Sonia Guajajara and Marina Silva to discuss how Brazil can retake its role as one of the main environment preservers leaders in the world. Sonia Guajajara is the most prominent Indigenous leader in the country, head of APIB (Indigenous People Association in Brazil), former Vice-President Candidate from PSOL and a world activist to the protection of the Amazon Forest, Indigenous Territories and the Environment. On the other side, Marina Silva is a former Senator, former Ministry for the Environment during Lula’s administration, founder of REDE an environmentalist party, and also originates from the Amazon region (coming from a rubber plantation village).
The event will showcase a panel discussion between the two followed by a Q&A session.
