Brazil Brown Bag Seminar Series – National Context and the Fight Against Racism in Brazil

Join the Lemann Center for Brazilian Studies in its Brazil brown Bag Seminar Series for a lecture entitled “Brazil Brown Bag Seminar Series – National Context and the Fight Against Racism in Brazil” by Amauri Mendes Pereira.

What kind of relationship is there between the advancement of the fight against racism and institutional crisis and values – especially worsened at the current context in Brazil? While the current confrontational environment echos ideological demands from the entire political spectrum and are present in all contemporary societies in the debates about gender, generation gaps, sexuality, and others, the proposition here is, in the “spirit” these social and political reframing of diversity dynamics, advance the fight against racism in Brazil is too salient aspect and aggravating the “political crisis” that now divides Brazilian society.
