Please join us as we discuss Reflections on the Current Political and Legislative Scenario in Brasília with speaker Dr. Murillo de Aragão, one of Brazil’s leading experts on political analysis, congressional affairs and public policies.

 

Dr. Aragão holds a Law degree from FADI-UniCEUB, a master in Political Science and a PhD in Sociology from Universidade de Brasilia.  He is the founder and chairman of Arko Advice, Latin America’s leading a public affairs and political analysis company, based in Brasília, Brazil. Arko’s current portfolio has over 100 companies, including dozens of Brazilian and international multinationals. Dr. Aragão is partner of Global Source, network of top level consultants based in New York. He is also the founder of Advocacia Murillo de Aragão, a law firm based in Brasília.

 

In 2016, he was called by the current President of the Republic, Michel Temer, to return to CDES – Council for Economic and Social Development of the Brazilian Presidency. The CDES is an unpaid board composed of representatives of civil society from diverse backgrounds, ideologies and views, that meet regularly to present ideas to the President of the Republic.  In 2015 he was elected, by the members of the Brazilian Congress, as councilmen for the Media Council of the National Congress. He is member of the Brazilian Political Science Association, the American Political Science Association and the Bar Association of Brazil (DF). Dr. Aragão also writes extensively is a regular columnist of many newspapers and news sites in Brazil and abroad, including Estado de S.Paulo, Istoé and Globo.

 

He is the author of two books – Grupos de Pressão no Congresso Nacional (Maltese, 1992) and Reforma Política (Civilização Brasileira, 2014).
