The Cuba Program – Institute of Latin American Studies of Columbia University invites you to a lecture from the CUBA AND BEYOND SERIES: “CUBA-US RELATIONS: The Trump Era with Dr. ERNESTO DOMÍNGUEZ LÓPEZ, University of Havana.

Dr. Ernesto Dominguez Lopez is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the US Study Group at the Center for Hemispheric and United States Studies at the University of Havana. From 2006 to 2010 he was a researcher and department chair at the independent Center for European Studies. Dr. Domínguez López serves as member of the Cuban National Doctoral Tribunal for Political Sciences, member of the Scientific Council of the University of Havana, and member of Commission of Scientific Degrees at the same institution.   He has been a visiting scholar, visiting professor, and guest speaker in several universities in the United States and Argentina, including Columbia University, Princeton University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Pittsburgh, Emory University, Georgia State University, the University of Wisconsin System, Arcadia University, and the Universidad Nacional de San Luis. Dr. Domínguez has published over thirty articles and book chapters including United States 2012: Reflections After an Election (Historical Juncture, Power, and Electoral System) (with Carlos A. de la Puente), The Global Crisis and the New Transition, In Search for Sense: United States and the 1970s Crisis, Georgia in the Contemporary U.S. Political System: Evolution in the Traditional South.  Currently he is Tinker Visiting Professor in the Political Science Department of the University of Wisconsin.
