Discussion with Eric Velasquez, Children’s Book Author & Illustrator

March 1, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Bilingual/Bicultural Education Program invites you to join us for an interactive discussion with Eric Velásquez whose work, as a son from Afro-Puerto Rican parents, offers insights into the lives of families from the Spanish Harlem. His stories invite us to build solidarity within Black and Latino communities. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear also about his work as an artist and illustrator.

Sponsored by the K-12 Outreach Program at the Institute of Latin American Studies. Organized by Dr. Carmen Martínez Roldán as part of the A&HB 4029 Latino Children’s Literature & Literacies Seminar.
