LASA 2015 Annual Conference – Latin America after the Commodity Boom: Is the Party Over?

The Latin American Student Association (LASA) is pleased to present its Annual Conference, “Latin America After the Commodity Boom: Is the Party Over?.” This year the event will focus on the main challenges Latin America faces today vis-à-vis an increasingly complex international context. The program will include three panels that will discuss the current macroeconomic outlook, the institutional framework and the inequality in Latin America.

Among the speakers who will join the conference are high-level professionals such as Alejandro Werner, Director of the Western Hemisphere Department, International Monetary Fund; James Robinson, University of Chicago Professor and co-author of “Why Nations Fail”, Julissa Reynoso, former U.S. Ambassador to Uruguay, Luis Felipe López-Calva, Lead Economist and Regional Poverty Advisor, World Bank; and Claudia Costin, Senior Director for Education, World Bank, and former Secretary of Education in the City of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
