Lydia Cabrera y la Afrocubanía de su Universo Narrativo

Mariela A. Gutiérrez, Distinguished Professor of Spanish, University of Waterloo, Canada, discusses the work of Lydia Cabrera, one of Cuba’s most prominent ethnographers, and its role in placing Africanity at the centre of the island’s national culture.

The presentation will be in Spanish.  Co-sponsored by the Cuban Cultural Center of New York.
