Mexico’s Electoral Process

The Center for Mexican Studies (CMS) and the Mexican Students Association (MEXSA) invite you to attend a seminar with Guest Speaker Lorenzo Cordova: 

Lorenzo Cordova is the President Councilor of the National Electoral Institute (INE). He holds a PhD in Political Theory from the University of Turin, Italy and a degree in law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico  (UNAM). He is also an Investigator of the Institute of Legal Research of the UNAM and a Professor of Constitutional and Electoral Law in the UNAM.

He has served as the Technical Secretary of the working group that processed the Political Reform in the Senate of the Republic during 2010 and from December 2011 to April 2014 was appointed by the House of Delegates as Electoral Councilor of the Federal Electoral Institute. He has several publications (books, book chapters, essays, and articles) on electoral, constitutional and political theory issues. Some of his books are Derecho y Poder. Kelsen y Schmitt frente a frente (FCE, 2009) and, Elecciones, dinero y corrupción. Pemexgate y Amigos de Fox (as a co-author with Ciro Murayama, Cal y Arena, 2006).
