Microphone to the World: Empowering Street Girls

April 5, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Have you ever wondered about the lives and perceptions of street children? Have you ever wanted to conduct participatory-action research with a vulnerable population? As part of a Fulbright Research Grant, in 2015 Melody Mills conducted research on the process of reintegration for adolescent girls in Lima, Peru, who, after having lived in street situations, decided to receive  rehabilitation to change their course in life. Come learn about this phenomenon, the research process and get a hold of their self-empowerment book, their “Microphone to the World”

The book will be available for purchase this evening.

This event is jointly sponsored by ILAS, the Institute for the Study of Human Rights and the Human Rights Graduate Group.
