Academics

Mexican students make one of the largest groups of foreign students at Columbia. This year there we received 50 students in schools and departments across the campus, including Teachers College, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, for a total of 93 students. In addition to the 15 members of our faculty who work on Mexican themes, ILAS has received 23 O'Gorman Visiting Fellows since 2007, and has often received Mexican scholars as Tinker Visiting Professors. These numbers express not only the dynamism of Mexican scholarship at Columbia but also the role the University plays as a portal to research and academic exchanges for Mexican scholars.
