Ana Gabriela Gonzalez is a Master of Public Administration Candidate at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She is concentrating in Urban and Social Policy with a specialization in Gender and Public Policy. Ana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Public Administration at El Colegio de México in Mexico City. Her dissertation, “The Factors that Influence the Recruitment of Women Public Servants to High Management Positions in Mexico’s Federal Public Administration”, identifies the main challenges women face in leadership positions in the Mexican Government. Ana has worked in the Mexican government, academia and the nonprofit sector. She is interested in developing policies that will increase women’s opportunities and reduce the gender gaps in the economic, social and political spheres. Ana continues her research about women in Mexico’s Public Administration as an International Fellow of the American Association of University Women.
