Voices of Afro-Brazilian Liberation 

The Beatriz Nascimento Foundation, in partnership with the Institute of Latin American Studies at Columbia University, are hosting an event to celebrate the Black Brazilian history through the voices of historical figures. The event will be hosted by Bethânia Nascimento, Beatriz’s daughter, who will talk about the legacy of her mother’s work. There will also be an exhibit with pictures of Black Brazilians who have transformed the country, as well as guest speakers. 

The event is free and no registration is required. Brazilian Hors D’Oeuvre and refreshments will be provided.
