On April 2, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:30 PM (Brasília time), the Paulo Freire Initiative invites you to the online seminar “The 40th Hour Has Not Ended: The Legacy of Paulo Freire in Angicos,” featuring Professor Juliana da Rocha e Silva, Coordinator of the Paulo Freire Memorial – Museum, Center for Education and Culture (UFERSA, Angicos campus).

In this conversation, we will revisit the 40 hours of literacy education carried out in Angicos in 1963 and reflect on how this territory continues to sustain a living memory and formative articulations inspired by Freirean praxis. The event proposes a dialogue on the contemporary challenges of keeping Paulo Freire’s legacy alive, bridging university, territory, and popular education.
