Join us for a screening of the documentary "Extraordinary Women: War & Peace", produced and directed by Dominican filmmaker Yildalina Tatem Brache. The documentary presents, in their own voices, the stories of struggle, resistance, and courage of five prominent female figures from the Dominican Republic. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film director, moderated by Maja Horn, Professor in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Cultures at Barnard College and Director of the Barnard Center for Research on Women.
Yildalina Tatem Brache is a jurist, educator, researcher, and documentary filmmaker focusing on women's lives.
She has a Bachelor of Law from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, a Master's in Complexity Sciences, a Master's in Gender and Development, a Master's in Constitutional Law and Fundamental Rights, and Master's in Defense and Security.
