Named by Forbes Magazine (Mexico) as “One of the 50 Most Creative Mexicans in the World,” and by Vogue Magazine (Mexico) as “One of the 8 Mexican Female Photographers who are Breaking through at a Global Level,” Mexican photographer Dulce Pinzón will discuss the social, political and artistic factors that led her to shoot her internationally acclaimed collection of photographs “The Real Story of the Super Heroes.” These photographs recognize the role of the Latin American immigrant before and behind the camera.
Current GS and Barnard College students Ana Oropeza and Camilla Marchese will discuss with Pinzón the creative process of this collection of photographs and will examine the way it challenges stereotypes that undermine the value of Latin American immigrants. Additionally, Pinzón will present some of her most recent collections. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A session.
We encourage participants to write down the questions that they might want Dulce to address during the discussion.
