Join us for a discussion marking the tenth anniversary of the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students with Omar Gómez Trejo, the former special prosecutor who led the Ayotzinapa investigation. Appointed in 2019, Mr. Gómez Trejo and his team uncovered key revelations about the original case. His investigation led to the indictment of over 100 individuals, but political interference eventually prompted his resignation in 2022.

Now a visiting scholar at Berkeley Law’s Human Rights Center, Mr. Gómez Trejo will discuss his experience investigating one of Mexico’s most significant human rights cases and offer insights into the challenges of addressing impunity and corruption.
