Brazil Seminar: Race and Social Inclusion in Brazil
Speaker(s): Thiago Amparo, Lemann Public Policy Fellow, Columbia University, and Professor, FGV Law School
Date and time: Oct 12, 6:10 pm
Brazil Seminar is a practicum designed to discuss contemporary Brazil's major economic, political, and social problems with leading analysts, activists, business leaders, and public figures. The seminar is unusual in its reliance upon a stream of outside speakers rather than on a fixed syllabus and set of lectures by the instructor only. Former participants include cabinet members, senior representatives of international organizations, academics, civil society activists, and other world-class experts.
During the Fall term, we will primarily focus on social and political factors while also addressing economic and financial issues. We also prioritize a practitioner’s perspective, using Brazil as a reference to discuss challenges that developing nations face in their development path.
This event will be live streamed on the ILAS Youtube page.
